Hum-an-imal
A written piece and visual essay exploring the changing boundaries between man and animal.
In keeping with theme of boundaries I split the book into two sides – the yellow (written essay) and the white (visual essay). The visual essay was built up from images that I collected through out the project. I wanted to retain a sense of collection and research so decided not to edit the images but keep them as they were. The idea of the visual essay was inspired by John Berger’s Way of Seeing.
For this project I created a hand generated typeface based upon Apollo.
