Automated responses
At the beginning and end of most everyday conversations, we go through the same dialogue pattern - hello how are you? I am good and you? This automated nature of human communication is void of feeling and therefore becomes meaningless. By engaging people in a telephone conversation with the machine, it is clear to see how standardised these greetings have become. The machine is a pre-recorded message set by me, where I have predicted the order and timing of normal everyday conversation. There are two parts to this project - text version and audio version.
